The style of writing used in multimedia storytelling is consistent with the writing that is done for the web. "Web prose" must be written in a style that can be easily scanned by a reader or easily understood by a listener.
Web copy must be streamlined and direct. Use the active voice. Limit yourself to one idea per sentence.
Use compound sentence structure; avoid complex sentences. For example:
Aunt Emma had no children and was good to her nieces and nephews.
Aunt Emma, who had no children, was good to her nieces and nephews.
This writing style is also easy to understand when you are writing to be heard.
Write the text-based elements of your overarching narrative in a style that is easily read or heard and understood.
